I was under the weather today (bad pun, sorry), so I mostly stayed home and did nothing. Well, I did play with ponies.
There was a tiny stampede on my dining table! I'm working on my seasonal cards, every year I make a little ornament. Every year I also wonder why I make them so complicated with lots of tiny paper cutting. Because making one or two is fun. By 50, not so much...
This year is horses, though I've also had the traditional seasonal robots, rocket ships and turtles too. Oh, sometimes a star or dove. Those are less interesting.
I make generic for most folks, but friends this year will get an approximation of their horse with colors they like. But I have way too many friends with paint horses: they get a similar solid, I'm not that crazy.
Well, maybe a little. I'm also working on a museum dinosaur display graphic, which also was on the table (yeah, I rarely cook, the dining room table and kitchen island are mostly used for crafts). So the dino was going to eat the ponies, Rraaarrr!
I did manage to leave for a bit and check on Major. He was safe and dry under his cover, and didn't even meet me at the gate: he'd have gotten wet, and Princess Major can't have that. He was very happy to have soupy beet pulp with apples, since he hates to get wet I worry that he doesn't go out to his trough enough.
I think I cook more for my horse than myself...though I did manage to make some leftover turkey soup tonight. Since it's still pouring rain, it sounds just right. Though I'll have to eat in the living room to avoid the stampede...
I love them! I am not crafty or creative in the slightest - my little sister got those genes. Anyway, I seriously envy your friends who will receive those ornaments. They are awesome.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun and tedious at the same time! Crafting is a necessary evil: if I'm trapped inside I go a bit stir crazy (like a stalled horse!)
DeleteThose are cute! It just took me two full days to hem four pair of jeans, so I think I'm done with doing any craft projects myself for a while. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteOh, sewing is my nemesis. I have given up hemming with anything other than that iron-on tape. Actual useful things rarely get done, I just sewed some buttons on a jacket I didn't wear all last year...
DeleteYour ponies are adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that print! Great ideas!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute project!
ReplyDelete(where's the (almost white now) grey with black points?!) ;D
Poor Val would have to be content with the color he was before gray! I only have one friend with a white horse, she's getting gray instead, close enough!
DeleteI can't wait! :-) I thought that was printed fabric at first, but then realized it was a WHOLE BUNCH of ornaments on a white background! Wow, you're ambitious!
ReplyDeleteLove the crafted ponies! Yeah we got 7" of rain in the last 3 days and strong winds..holy muck soup! More coming in this afternoon they say after off and on shower this a.m. I so should have done a bunch of gravel work but hey, what's winter? Potentially arrived and A blessing disguised as a rude awakening I guess! haha
ReplyDeleteI did a little cleanup with more rain expected tonight. I got about the same amount, I am wondering how bad the trails are going to be. No complaining, we need the water. I have to keep telling myself that!
DeleteI love the decorations...you should sell them! I always envy crafty people.. because I am not crafty but always secretly wished I was.. but I can cook.. so I guess all is not lost!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are getting the rains but moderation would be nice so it doesn't all just run off.
..
It's not as fun to make things to sell, that's just another job then! Already lots of talented folks on places like Etsy.
DeleteI don't cook. I think we all have our talents, better we lived closer and shared them!
You are so talented!!!!!! They look amazing. And what a good idea to make your cards into "ornaments".
